Roger Sanchez is going back to his roots for his new single.

"My Roots" is the second track from his upcoming new album, and takes his sound back to classic New York House, but with a 2013 spin.

The video uses animation and was directed by a film student at the University of Southern California, and features various New York City staples like a museum which looks like The Met, the subway, and of course the famous - and busy - NYC streets.

Roger says of his new music video, "The initial concept I had was to create a series of graphic stills based on my love of street art and also to depict different elements of the roots of my music and have them 'come to life.' What Sherif did was to bring in additional layers: playing with black and white as well as vivid colors and working with a creative artist who literally paints people into a graphic still life."

"My Roots" is out on Beatport now, and will be available on iTunes & everywhere else October 8th. The track sees remixes from Technasia, Alexei & Carlos Kinn, and Sonny Fodera.

On his new single, Roger says, "There is a rebirth of underground house music and a new, young audience that is discovering this sound and really looking for deeper and sexier sounds and vibes. I think that dance music has grown and matured, especially in the United States but also globally, and audiences are really looking for more variety and depth within the genre."
